London Blue Badge Guides are highly qualified, professional tourist guides who have passed the country’s most rigorous guiding qualification, recognised both nationally and internationally. We undergo 18 months of extensive training and have to pass a series of written and practical exams to earn the “Blue Badge,” which signifies excellence in guiding.
Blue Badge Guides are the only external guides allowed to conduct tours in some of the capital’s most important sites, including the Tower of London, Westminster Abbey and St Paul’s Cathedral.
I’ve been a Blue Badge Guide since 2016 and since qualifying have taken literally thousands of visitors on tours of the capital and beyond. I’m registered with the Institute of Tourist Guiding and a member of both the Association of Professional Tourist Guides and the Guild of Tourist Guides.
