No trip to London is complete without a visit to the British Museum, one of the finest collections of objects of human culture in the world.

Join me for a two-hour tour of the museum’s highlights. The first half shows you treasures from the ancient world: mummies from Egypt from before the time of the Pharaohs, the mysterious Rosetta Stone, the all-powerful Rameses the Great, the exquisite carvings of the Assyrians, and the world-famous Parthenon Marbles – 2500 years old and still one of the crowning achievements of Western sculpture.

We’ll then look at objects found in Britain – from a time before the concept of ‘Britain’ even existed, a unique Roman mosaic, gold and silver treasures from 4000 years of history, including the Mold gold cape, Anglo-Saxon artefacts from Sutton Hoo that put paid to the idea of a ‘dark ages’ and two of the most astoundingly beautiful pieces of medieval craftsmanship you will ever see.

All these objects have incredible stories to tell, and you’ll discover what makes them so important. Contact me to book your trip.

Check out the latest walks to see if this is scheduled for a forthcoming Sunday walk.
